I think yogurt very mysterious. Always likids on the tops!

I’m struggling with my pronunciation, especially the words Japanese borrow from English. For example “handsome” is “hansamu”, “chocolate” is chocoleito” and “computer” is “conputa” in Japanese.

One day I told Joe “I think yogurt very mysterious. Always likids on the tops!” ( I wanted to say “I think yogurt is very mysterious because there is always liquid on top whenever I open the container.”)

カタカナ語の発音って難しい

Good luck

  1. You are much more polite about the accumulated liquid. When I first started to see the separation of the water from the yogurt or other similar products, I thought they were spoiled. Now, I know better and just tip the cup to throw the excess liquid out.

I think even tofu will do this if it is sliced and left to stand.

On language – when a friend was trying to teach me a little Japanese, I was amused to hear – hanbago for hand bag. But it is the same idea as hansomu because there is not a specific word for it. And….sorry to say, I never really learned too much. Only the important things food and drinks and of course – bathroom.

One day, I want to visit Japan.
